The secret of Iceland’s beauty has been unlocked within the boarders of the United States. Rock bands, rap artists, and wool sweaters are not confined to the coastal boarders of Iceland anymore. They’ve made their way to the U.S, from artists like Of Monsters and Men to Sigur Rós, to literature, food and filmmaking. Organizations like the Icelandic Association of Chicago and Visit Reykjavík are working to spread Iceland’s culture to the rest of the world through events, concerts and community gatherings.
