Over recent years, Iceland has become an increasingly popular location for U.S. filmmakers. Movies like The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) and Prometheus (2012), television series like “Game of Thrones” and the upcoming DC Justice League film were all shot in Iceland. Musicians like Justin Bieber with “I’ll Show You” (2015) and Kanye West with “Highlights” (2016) took advantage of the country’s beautiful landscapes for their music videos.
Iceland is a go-to spot for filming destination wedding videos and can make memorable home movies. The country has benefits for amateur and professional filmmakers alike. But when it comes to situations with the unusual weather, things can get a bit unpredictable and risky.
Roland Larsson is a wedding videographer from JNS Vision in Iceland and shares tips and experiences while doing his work. Elín Björk Jónasdóttir, a meteorologist from the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO), gives advice on taking on dangerous weather situations and speaks on some of the don’ts while exploring Iceland.
