Today was the big Golden Circle tour day, starting out with a stop at the North Atlantic ridge. It was truly incredible to see where the tectonic plates meet and cut through the landscape and to see what I spent so many years studying in geography at school. After a beautiful trip through the Icelandic countryside it was time for the next stop, the geysers. They were truly a sight to behold with the water bubbling away on the surface. Finally it was onto the waterfall- Gullfoss. Despite it being extremely wet and cold at this point it was still an awesome moment and it was great to be able to get up close with the waterfall.
Here are some pictures of the day.
