Iceland Airwaves Interview: Dikta (LISTEN)

We’re headed to Iceland Airwaves to cover the festival and cultural stories! Follow our adventures live beginning Nov. 4 right here on our blog and our main class page where we’ll be reviewing shows each night, producing audio stories and more. Check out a story from our preview show, which aired on WCRX.

Inspired by bands like Nirvana and Smashing PumpkinsDikta is an Icelandic band that knows how to please their fan base with their heartening alternative indie-rock tunes. This band of elementary school playmates has been around since 2004 with chart-topping singles and albums, and recently their album “Easy Street” has been released in Iceland. Lead singer Haukur Heiðar talks about their rise, the reasoning for their name choice and how their lead singer creates such soulful lyrics.
